BNN reported on Dec. 14, 2010 on the planned emptying of the latvian oil pipeline. It seems that not only LNT but also other oil experts question the pipeline emptying and Vitol Group activity.

The founder of the Customs Brokers Association, former First Deputy Director-General of the SRS, and Customs Department Director Kalvis Vitolins (Kalvis Vītoliņš) suggests that pipeline oil might be smuggled with all the resulting consequences. LNT and Dr. Rudolf Meroni, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of LNT also are against acitivities of Vitol Group regarding LatRosTrans pipeline.
