In pressbox.co.uk the following press release published by the press service of AS Ventunkers on January 20, 2011:

Title of the release was: „Litasco is running out of time. Ventbunkers will store fuel oil offshore.“

Dr. Rudolf Meroni, who is the chairman of the supervisory board of  company AS Ventbunkers is quoted expressing: “No company, no matter how big and powerful it is, should have the right to paralyze one of the most lucrative businesses sectors in Latvia.”, as the company LITASCO (a subsidiary of russian LUKOIL) is trying to block the flow of oill through the Ventbunkers facilities. Videos by Rudolf Meroni.

Really astonishing, what is there going. Even more astonishing is, what the russian company LUKOIL / LITASCO is trying to achieve.

The press release also expresses, that „Litasco still continues trying to block Ventbunkers operations by refusing to send a ship to Ventspils port to lift over 120,000 metric tons of fuel oil stored in the VBU terminal facilities.“

In this text also the possible involvement of Olafs Berkis in this astonishing situation is mentioned.

Rudolf Meroni is being quoted to anounce in this press release, that Ventbunkers is planning to store the LITASCO oil offshore. This  to clear their tanks to restart the oil flow through the Ventbunkers shipping facilities.

The question comes up – which further problems this may cause for the oil supply for the European Union.
